Africa Matters International (AMI) is a Stillwater based nondenominational, nonpartisan, and nonprofit organization dedicated to the effort of poverty eradication and promotion of human security in Africa and beyond.

We are recruiting like minded and altruistic individuals with specialized areas of expertise to be members of a fact-finding mission to Africa on behalf of our organization in December 2008. The members will be tasked to conduct a pre-program implementation assessment and analysis of poverty related issues in a rural/urban community setting with the opportunity to volunteer in areas of their choice and upon return, provide program viability and implementation recommendations to AMI. This is a good opportunity for students in international related studies to gain real world experiences for future career endeavors.

Areas of expertise include but not limited to:

Childhood health and development Nutritional sciences General/Specialized health practice Education Vocational training and trades Science, information and communication technology Agricultural sciences Water safety and sanitation

Energy and natural resources Business administration – students and business owners with business incubator and start-up knowledge Sports and athletics Cultural arts Community development leaders Environmental sciences and conservation
